A heartwarming tale of Misty

Introduction

A small fellow sitting in a coconut shop brought a smile to everyone’s face—at least everyone who saw him. Yes, indeed, it was a little fur baby with bright blue eyes, silky black fur, and charming patches of white.

Imagine seeing this adorable little fellow being attacked by another dog. It felt like being stabbed right in the heart to witness such a brutal and upsetting incident. I was heartbroken, but I wasn’t going to just stand by—I decided to step up.

Taking Action

We decided to bring a smile to the puppy's face—even a small one counts, right? But every good idea requires patience and time. Life is full of challenges and obstacles, and dealing with them makes everything worthwhile. One day, while sitting at the dining table, we discussed and improved our ideas for hours.

Vaccination Idea

Eventually, we came up with the idea of getting the little fellow vaccinated. This was particularly important because we weren't sure if Misty had received previous care, and vaccinations would protect him from diseases and infections.

Why Animals Matter

I believe animals are crucial to our lives. Birds help grow trees, providing the oxygen we breathe. Herbivores ensure our trees and plants remain healthy. Dogs protect our homes and keep us safe. It's our responsibility to protect and cherish these beautiful creatures.

My Connection to Animals

I was born an animal lover—not just someone who admires animals but someone who actively works towards animal welfare. I feel a special bond with animals; every time I go outside, I seem to make a new animal friend. Believe it or not, I've been committed to animal welfare since I was 10 years old.

Opportunity to Help

My passion motivated me to act and help Misty. It felt like a unique opportunity to make a difference.

A New Friendship

The first thing we did was bring Misty home and give him a proper meal. He immediately bonded with my dog, Kubo. Actually, they didn't just bond—they became best friends instantly! It was heartwarming to see Misty getting along with a full-grown dog. Kubo became calmer yet stayed playful. Which dog isn't playful, right? I fed Misty nutritious meals of rice, curd, chicken, and vegetables, something I discuss in detail in my other blog post. We shared some funny moments too—like Misty barking at his reflection in the mirror and the playful exchanges between him and Kubo. It was hilarious!

Creating Happy Memories

We often brought Misty home to play and have meals, returning him afterward to the shop. Watching Kubo and Misty interact always brought joy and laughter. Misty brought happiness not only to Kubo but also to me. During his vaccination visit, Misty met a veterinarian's cat, resulting in some amusing moments—including when the cat playfully slapped Misty in the face. It was truly funny!

The Downside

Sadly, not everything went smoothly. One day, Misty bit me painfully. I immediately informed my parents, who took me for medical treatment. Getting those injections wasn't enjoyable, especially since I'm only 10!

Discovering Misty's Infection

We soon found out that Misty had a long-term infection. Unfortunately, the infection caused him to bite not only me but also my dad and Kubo. He bit me first because he trusted me the most, and despite the bite, I wasn't going to let him down. I took him for a proper check-up, ensured he was treated, and provided him with food before going to the hospital myself.

Reflections and Joy

Despite these challenges, the experience with Misty was wonderful. He brought immense joy, a sense of responsibility, and motivation to my life, inspiring me to do even more for animal welfare. It's delightful to have a little fur friend greeting you on your way to school, isn't it?

Protecting Misty

I promise to always protect Misty. He's more than just my friend; he's everyone's friend.

Invitation to Help

Would you like to join me in helping animals? Even if we can't meet in person, you can still help by feeding an animal or two. Any small effort contributes significantly to animal welfare.

Call to Action

If you see an animal in need, reach out to a nearby NGO such as the Humane Society or SPCA, take the animal to the nearest veterinary hospital, or contact local rescue organizations like Animal Aid Unlimited or Blue Cross.

Trust me, having an animal friend enriches your life—it could be a dog, cat, bird, or any animal!

Lashika, Misty's story truly touched my heart. The way you’ve brought her journey to life—with such tenderness and empathy—reminds us of the deep emotional world our animal companions live in. Thank you for giving her story the voice it deserves, and for showing us the incredible resilience, love, and trust that can blossom with a little kindness. Reminds me of my pet as a kid Her name was Dolly. Stories like these stay with us. 💙🐾
